How to clean a thermal ticket printer
EXPEDY recommends cleaning the thermal head to maintain receipt printing quality. We recommend periodic cleaning, approximately once every 3 months, and once a month in dusty environments (bakeries, pizzerias, etc.).
Depending on the paper roll used, paper dust may stick to the feed roller and interfere with paper feed. To remove paper dust, clean the feed roller with a cleaning pen.
or a cotton bud soaked in water. Only switch on the product once the water has completely dried.
WARNING! After printing, the thermal head and its surroundings can be very hot. Be careful not to touch it, and allow it to cool before cleaning.
Do not damage the thermal head by touching it with your fingers or any hard object.
- Switch off the printer.
- Open the paper roll cover.
- Clean the thermal elements of the thermal head and the drive roller with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol solvent (ethanol or isopropyl alcohol).
- Also clean the paper sensor, which can block printing.
